Fishermen in Puerto Pollensa, now required to pay fees in advance to the regional government, are looking to get the government to reverse this demand so that fees can be paid retrospectively. The cost of storage has risen to an average of 900 euros a year (far higher than in Puerto Alcúdia), and the combination of higher fees, advance payment and economic crisis has been forcing fishermen to abandon such storage facilities.
