The two charities, the Cruz Roja (Red Cross) and Caritas (the church's charitable wing), are facing increased demands for assistance not just from immigrants but also from native Balearic citizens. Caritas say that they need to attend to some 600 people per month. Requests for help range from help to pay bills and to providing presents for Three Kings.
