Town halls in Mallorca are managing to file accounts and present budgets much more rapidly than they have traditionally done. Many have now complied with the period for submitting accounts, as required by law, for the first time since the public audit office was established some ten years ago. Failure to comply with the filing period can mean loss of funds from Madrid.
