MALLORCA TODAY - Tax rises in the Balearics

The Balearic Government has announced that there will be tax increases in order to tackle the region's deficit. Without being specific as yet, finance minister Josep Aguiló has hinted that these rises will apply to wealth and not to employment and work. One tax that will certainly come in is the so-called "céntimo sanitario", a tax on petrol and diesel to help fund the health service.
