According to the organisation Exceltur, Capdepera (e.g. Cala Ratjada) and Santanyí (e.g. Cala d'Or) registered two of the strongest increases in tourism profitability and employment in Spain during 2011. Muro and Santanyí have had the best yield of resorts over the past three years, thanks to a renewal of the type of tourism offer.

(These findings are confirmation of ones made by Exceltur in November last year in which Muro and Santanyí were identified as being the two towns in Mallorca to be at national levels of profit generated and employment created.)
