Sea conditions (northern Mallorca): Northeast 7 easing to 6 in the afternoon and veering East in the evening. Rough with the threat of storms.
Some rain overnight, it is the wind that is the main feature on a grey morning. An amber alert in place for rain both today and tomorrow. The winds should start to ease later in the day, the met office warning of gusts up to 90 or 100kph during the day.
Afternoon update (17.30): While the wind has persisted, the strongest gusts have only been up to 60kph and the rain, though it has been around, has not been heavy. Very grey all day and very threatening, there may yet be worse to come, but not nearly as bad as had been forecast. A high of 19.6C
