MALLORCA TODAY - Action demanded over maintaining Pollensa's pinewalk

The storm that hit Puerto Pollensa on 1 November worsened structural problems with the Paseo Voramar (aka pinewalk). The town hall has therefore called on the Costas authority (part of the national environment ministry) to be more involved in the maintenance of this iconic part of the resort. In another move, the town hall intends to take measures to reduce the amount of sand that is swept from the main Tamarells beach onto the coast road. These include wind barriers and planting vegetation.
