MALLORCA TODAY - Matas has to pay 1.6 million euro bail

Former regional president, Jaume Matas, has been told he needs to find a further bail to avoid going into prison. This relates to irregularities surrounding the project for the opera house in Palma and specifically the issue of a contract for the architect Santiago Calatrava, allegedly paid for work which wasn't carried out. The bail has been set at 1.6 million euros.
