The met office is indicating the arrival of a heatwave lasting over a week which will mean temperatures climbing to the mid-30s but could also go very much higher and exceed 40 degrees.
Evening update (19.45): A high of 27.7C, so not as hot as anticipated today. The Mestral wind was really blowing at one point as well, kicking up sand on the beach.
