Sea conditions (northern Mallorca; Alcúdia and Pollensa bays): Northwest and North 6, 7 at intervals, easing 4 to 6 by the evening. Rough with swells to three metres.
Quite windy and some rain, yellow alerts for wind and for the coasts. The outlook is generally poor for the next few days. Quite cold and the snow line down to 200 metres on Saturday, though the weekend should be reasonably sunny.
Afternoon update (17.45): An at-times bitter day in the wind, this morning there having been some rumbles of thunder and a hailstorm which affected many parts of the island, including areas in the north. Some sun as well, but a high of only 12.2C.
