MALLORCA TODAY - Osasuna 2 : 2 Real Mallorca

Mallorca, in crisis after the departure of Michael Laudrup and fall-outs at board level, headed off to Pamplona to face an Osasuna side with a steady but unspectacular start to the season. Things began badly with an early yellow for Pina, but Hemed, having been fouled by Flaño, put Mallorca into the lead from the penalty spot, only for García to equalise with a header in added time. A generally even first half, García though put Osasuna ahead with a further header fifteen minutes into the second period, and Mallorca rather lost their heads, Nsue in particular; two yellows in rapid succession and he was off. Then, despite being down to ten men, a foul in the area on Alfaro gave Hemed his second chance to score from the spot. A spirited effort by Mallorca, playing a 4-4-2 system under stand-in coach Miquel Angel Nadal, and a deserved point.
