A midday kick-off for the grudge match between Mallorca and Villarreal (all to do with Mallorca having been denied entry into European competition this season) saw a pretty even first half. Mallorca had the better of the second half in terms of attempts on goal, but the game ended up scoreless, thus more or less ensuring Villarreal the fourth Champions League spot. For Mallorca, relegation is still a possibility, but is most unlikely. There are three rounds of matches left this season, and Mallorca are five points and seven places above Osasuna, who play this evening, in 18th spot.
