MALLORCA TODAY - Real Mallorca 1 : 1 Levante

Bottom of the league, Mallorca were up against Levante who had been dropping like a stone in recent weeks. A chance for some salvation for Mallorca? But then the same question has been asked before other games in what has not been a run-in to the end of the season packed with impossible opposition. The answer was to prove to be not really.

But it could have been more positive. Hemed popped up to score after only seven minutes, Levante were playing defensively and Mallorca were in charge. That was as good as it got though. Acquafresca equalised just before half-time following a defensive mix-up. Victor had a good header, there was a shout for a penalty because of handball, but Mallorca got nowhere. The only place they may be going is down. Four points separate Mallorca at the bottom from Osasuna in seventeenth. Four more games to; Bilbao away next Saturday, Betis at home the week after. By the time Mallorca go to Madrid to play Atlético in the penultimate game, they may already be down.

Mallorca:
Aouate; Hutton, Geromel, Conceiçao, Kevin; Martí, Pina, Nsue (Alfaro 54), Dos Santos; Victor (Arizmendi 64; Márquez 69), Hemed
