MALLORCA TODAY - Sevilla 1 (6) : 2 (2) Real Mallorca (Copa del Rey)

The return leg of the cup match and a game in which the teams went through the motions, Sevilla holding a 5-0 lead from the first leg. Del Moral put the hosts further ahead midway through the first period during which neither side offered any great threats. Mallorca, though, broke through the lethargy to score twice in the second half through the substitute Brandon and former Sevilla player Alfaro. 2-1 on the night for Mallorca, but they were always chasing an impossible task.

MALLORCA TODAY - Sevilla 3 : 2 Real Mallorca

The first appearance of Giovani dos Santos for Mallorca and he made a big contribution, being the provider of two goals within five minutes by Bigas and Hemed to put Mallorca 2-1 up at the half hour mark, Negredo scoring for the home side between the two Mallorca strikes. Sevilla dominated the first period but Mallorca, needing to get their season back on track after two defeats, were more clinical. Negredo was giving Mallorca's central defence plenty to think about and he equalised with a header after ten minutes of the second period, Sevilla totally in control, a third goal coming from Cicinho with a quarter of an hour left. After the good start to the season, Mallorca now down to eighth and the small matter of Real Madrid coming up next - Sunday at home.

Sevilla:
Palop; Cicinho, Fazio, Spahic, Navarro; Campaña (Perotti 56), Maduro (Kondogbia 78), Rakitic; Navas, Negredo, del Moral (Hervás 80)
Goals: Negredo (28, 55), Cicinho (74)

Mallorca:
Aouate; Ximo, Geromel, Conceiçao, Bigas; Pina (Alfaro 77), Fontás (Martí 83), Victor, Pereira; Hemed, dos Santos (Arizmendi 60)
Goals: Bigas (25), Hemed (30)
Yellows: Pina (16), Ximo (84)

MALLORCA TODAY - Sevilla 3 : 1 Real Mallorca

Though Mallorca appear to be edging to safety, nothing can be taken for granted, especially after last season's collapse that nearly saw the team relegated on the last day. Away at Sevilla in ninth position, three points and four places above Mallorca (eight points above the drop zone), for the final game in La Liga's thirtieth round of matches, it was the home side which totally dominated in the first period but without threatening unduly. But the domination broke out in a sixteen-minute spell into the second half, Sevilla scoring three times. Hemed got one back for Mallorca, but it was barely deserved. A 3-1 win that could have been a wider margin.

Sevilla:

Palop; Coke, Fazio, Escudé, Luna; Medel, Trochowski (Rakitic 73); Navas, del Moral, Reyes (Kanouté 69); Negredo (Deivid 88)
Goals: Negredo (51), del Moral (62), Navas (67)
Yellows: Trochowski (26), Coke (44), Medel (88)

Mallorca:
Aouate; Chico, Nunes, Ramis, Cáceres; Martí, Tissone, Pereira, Castro (Hemed 57); Álvaro (Nsue 45), Victor (Alfaro 71)
Goal: Hemed (73)
Yellows: Martí (19), Álvaro (33)
