The return leg of the cup match and a game in which the teams went through the motions, Sevilla holding a 5-0 lead from the first leg. Del Moral put the hosts further ahead midway through the first period during which neither side offered any great threats. Mallorca, though, broke through the lethargy to score twice in the second half through the substitute Brandon and former Sevilla player Alfaro. 2-1 on the night for Mallorca, but they were always chasing an impossible task.

The scoreline says it all. The cup may not be a Mallorca priority, but any sort of performance has to be. The game was all over after 25 minutes, Sevilla going three up. Mallorca had the chance to peg one back before the break, but Dos Santos's penalty was saved. A fourth for Sevilla almost immediately after the re-start, and that really was it, except for the fifth soon before the end. The return leg will be academic, not to say pointless, this is a team in total disarray.

A goalless draw in the return leg of the Copa del Rey tie, Mallorca advancing thanks to the away goal. The next match will be against Sevilla. A poor match in which Mallorca barely created a chance and rarely looked interested in doing so, preferring to hold on to the away-goal advantage. Just over 5,000 were in the stadium to at least see Mallorca get back to winning ways of a sort.
