MALLORCA TODAY - Outcry over removal of religious icons from Alcúdia chapel

There have been protests from politicians and from religious leaders in Alcúdia over the removal of religious symbols from the chapel in Alcúdia's cemetery, which has been made into a secular facility. Apart from offence being caused to worshippers, opposition politicians say that the icons are protected under heritage law.

MALLORCA TODAY - Image of the Virgin Sanctuary of Pollensa restored

A fourteenth century icon of the Virgin that had fallen into a very poor state has been restored thanks to support from the Council of Mallorca's culture department and will now be placed back on display in Pollensa Museum.
