The lighthouse at the Cap de Formentor was 150 years old yesterday. Built by the engineer Emilio Pou, the lighthouse can be seen for up to 20 nautical miles and was an essential navigational aid given that the Formentor coastline was right on the shipping channel between Mallorca and Menorca.
