MALLORCA TODAY - Levante 4 : 0 Real Mallorca

A midday kick-off in Valencia for Mallorca, badly in need of a good result against a solid Levante side. Despite a Levante disallowed goal after only a minute, all seemed to be going reasonably well for Mallorca, dominating possession but failing to make any real chances, until things went belly-up, Obafemi Martins scoring just before half time (Geromel at fault) and then Navarro, García and Iborra adding three within twelve minutes of the re-start, the fourth goal courtesy of a further defensive error. Given their possession, Mallorca should have done better. The result leaves Mallorca in 17th place, and they will stay there unless Deportivo (unlikely) beat Atletico Madrid away later today. Next up for Mallorca, at home against Bilbao who are not having a great season.

Levante:
Munúa; Lell, Ballesteros, David Navarro (Rodas 78), Juanfran; Michel (Pallardó 75), Iborra; El Zhar (Roger 70), Barkero, García; Martins

Mallorca:
Aouate; Ximo Navarro (Arizmendi 45), Nunes, Geromel, Bigas; Pina (Martí 60), Márquez; Nsue, Victor (Alfaro 61), Dos Santos; Hemed
Yellow: Nunes (31)

MALLORCA TODAY - Levante 0 : 0 Real Mallorca

The first round of matches in La Liga after the holiday break found Mallorca away at top four side Levante. An even but largely sterile first half with Mallorca perhaps shading a 45 minutes with few scoring opportunities. Mallorca had Pereira to the fore and proving that he is one of the team's stand-out players this season as the game became more open in the second half with Mallorca creating more chances than Levante. The game ended up goalless, but the away point for and the performance by Mallorca were encouraging.

Levante:
Munúa; López, Ballesteros, Del Horno, Juanfran; Torres (Iborra 85), Farinós; El Zhar (Higón 78), Suárez (Aranda 62), Barkero; Koné
Yellows: López (24), Farinós (67)

Real Mallorca:
Aouate; Cendrós, Chico, Ramis, Bigas; Pina (Martí 59), Tissone; Pereira, Castro (Alfaro 46), Nsue; Victor (Nunes 90)
Yellows: Pina (57), Cendrós (62), Pereira (90+)
