As though confirmation were in fact needed of the growing Russian influence in Mallorca, a newspaper has been launched for the Russian tourist and resident. "Vesti Mallorca" comes from the Serra group ("Ultima Hora", "Daily Bulletin" etc) and will appear every fortnight.

MALLORCA TODAY - Delgado lashes out at Grupo Serra
Tourism minister Carlos Delgado yesterday launched an attack on newspaper and media company Grupo Serra during a parliamentary session which seemingly left members of his own party, the Partido Popular, taken aback. What caused this were reports in "Ultima Hora" regarding what the paper claimed were payments to Delgado's personal trainer while he was mayor of Calvià. Delgado says that this is all the consequence of a personal vendetta against him on behalf of Pedro Serra, president of the company. The bad blood between Delgado and Serra is known about in media circles, and now it is well and truly out in the open.
"Ultima Hora", on its website, makes no mention of this attack by Delgado. "El Mundo" (and it might be noted that it has been a fierce critic of Pedro Serra) highlights one of Delgado's swipes at Grupo Serra, namely that it received almost five million euros from the previous government between 2007 and 2011.
