MALLORCA TODAY - Balearic Government approves tax increases

As expected, the Balearic Government has today approved tax measures to help reduce the region's deficit to 1.5% of GDP. These include the 4.8 centimo tax on petrol and diesel. Exemptions have been clarified and now also include taxis. There is to be a tax on the most-contaminating forms of transport, such as motor boats and quad bikes plus an inheritance tax for transfers over the value of 300,000 euros.
